Space Weather and You!
At the Museum | Farrand Auditorium
February 3, 2023 / 7:30 PM–9:00 PM
The Museum is pleased to announce the return of our monthly astronomy lectures in partnership with the Santa Barbara Astronomical Unit.
These lectures are held on the first Friday of every month in Farrand Hall and are free and open to the public.
Space weather is caused by contortions in the sun's magnetic field. Even though it's 93 million miles away, that solar activity can have a big impact on Earth. Learn how phenomena like the solar wind can cause geomagnetic storms, radio blackouts, and auroras on Earth with Dr. Joseph P. Bassi, Senior Space Instructor at Integrity ISR.
