1:00 PM - ExoPlanets
With the discovery in 1995 of the first planet orbiting another star, we now know that planets are not unique to our own Solar System. In fact, these “extrasolar” planets now appear to be quite common. From water worlds to molten landscapes, inhabitable moons to planets with multiple suns, these exotic worlds aren’t just science fiction anymore!
Age appropriateness: 5 and Up

2:00 PM - What’s Up
Get a close-up view of the sun through our state-of-the-art telescopes in Palmer Observatory, then discuss the current night sky during a live interactive presentation in Gladwin Planetarium.

3:00 PM - Universe: User’s Guide - Astrology

What do the planets, stars, and constellations have in store for you today? Guess what: it has nothing to do with when you were born! Explore astrology and astronomy with our expert presenters to learn about the intertwined histories of this ancient and imaginative view of the cosmos and the science that allows astronomers to accurately forecast cosmic events.
