Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History

THE MUSEUM’S MUCH ANTICIPATED
CENTENNIAL PROJECT IS UNDERWAY!

This is an exciting time at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History!

Starting September 2017 key areas of the Mission Creek campus will be undergoing an amazing revitalization.

Currently, the Bird Hall and Mammal Hall are closed for renovation and Cartwright Hall
is closed to be transformed into the new Santa Barbara Gallery.

And rest assured, the Museum will remain open, active, and exciting throughout the entire period of the renovations.

The Museum and Sea Center will be closed on Monday, Dec 18th due to the Thomas Fire. We wish to express our deepest gratitude to the firefighters and support staff who are risking their lives to protect our community. We are thankful that all of our staff, animals, and collections are safe, and protective measures are in place. Camps are canceled from 12/18-12/22. We will open as soon as conditions improve.
