Community Science Bioblitz Nature Walk: Celebrating Amphibian Week 2024

At the Museum

May 11, 2024 / 6:30 PM–7:30 PM

Calling all nature enthusiasts and families alike! Join us for an engaging Community Science Bioblitz Nature Walk as part of Amphibian Week 2024! The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History and Sea Center are thrilled to host this event in partnership with PARC (Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation), the Santa Barbara Zoo, and the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies.

Set against the backdrop of the setting sun, this early evening excursion promises an unforgettable encounter with the wonders of amphibian life.

We invite you to become community scientists for an evening. Learn how to identify various amphibian species, record their calls, safely search for amphibious friends, and contribute valuable data to ongoing conservation efforts. This hands-on experience is perfect for young families and the curious at heart, offering a unique opportunity to connect with nature in a meaningful way.

As we explore the trails along the creek, learn more from Tessa Cafritz, Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Sea Center Naturalist and Volunteer Program Manager, about the importance of amphibians and the role they play in our ecosystems. Discover the hidden world of frogs, toads, salamanders and more, as you gain a deeper appreciation for the delicate balance of nature.

Mark your calendars for this special event and let's come together to celebrate our native habitats and make a difference for amphibian conservation.

Reserve your spot today and embark on a journey of discovery with us!
