The Museum and Sea Center are closed until it is safe to reopen, but we are working hard on our summer Butterflies Alive! exhibit and look forward to welcoming you soon!

Stephen M. Hicks

Steve Hicks joined the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History with a strong interest in our local history and our environment. He and his family moved to Santa Barbara from Washington, DC in 1994 following a career in the computer and software industries. In large part this move was driven by the natural beauty and resources of our community. Beginning with IBM in various positions including product marketing and new product development he continued on as an employee/partner in four smaller software companies, all of which were subsequently acquired. He has a BS from Pennsylvania State University and MBA from University of Southern California.

He served as board president of CALM, the Channel Islands YMCA, the Scholarship Foundation, and the Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics. He currently serves as Board Treasurer of the Santa Barbara Foundation and President of the Montecito Community Foundation. He leads the Santa Barbara Investment Forum and is a member of the Santa Barbara Angel Alliance.
