Kathleen Kalp

Kathleen Kalp is a retired wealth management professional with 40 years experience assisting private high net worth and charitable clientele with financial and investment planning strategies. She has a BA in Business Economics from UCSB and an MBA from Loyola Marymount University. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst ® designation and Series 7,66 licenses.

Her career began in 1984 at William O’Neil & Company where she analyzed equity market and economic data for research publications including the newly launched Investors Business Daily. While at O’Neil she began a lifelong passion for equity research and portfolio construction, specializing in growth stock selection.

Her 40-year career includes portfolio management, securities analysis and socially responsible investing responsibilities for mutual fund, equity research, and hedge fund firms in Los Angeles and Phoenix. In 1998 she moved back to Santa Barbara to begin a wealth management role with Northern Trust. While at Northern she was lead manager for the Northern Large Cap Core portfolio, a proprietary equity fund owned in client accounts nationwide. Kathleen also hosted a women’s speaking series “Koffee with Kathy” and lectured to numerous investor groups during her career. After 15 years with Northern, she provided wealth management services for private client, foundation, pension and non-profit clients at Montecito Bank & Trust and more recently, was a Senior Wealth Manager at First Republic Bank.

Active in her community, Kathleen has served two trustee terms for the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History and was Board President for the Wildling Museum of Art and Nature in Solvang. Her volunteer work includes Board and committee roles for the Marymount School in Santa Barbara and the Loyola Marymount MBA Alumni Association.
