This event in the Mammal and Bird Halls, Maximus Gallery, and Museum Library is for adult Members at the Naturalist level and above.

In collaboration with Renegade Wines, celebrate the reopening of the historic Museum Library with a deeper look into its rare book collections. German Renaissance artist Albrecht Dürer’s depiction of “The Rhinoceros” from 1515 has been reproduced for centuries and is among the master artwork chosen by La Spinetta winery to represent their magnificent wines. Museum Librarian Terri Sheridan will display and discuss Dürer’s artwork that has appeared in additional publications from both the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, and Associate Director of Collections & Research Krista Fahy, Ph.D., will discuss this connection and more exclusive insights during this one-of-a-kind event.

Complimentary wine from the La Spinetta brand will be served, along with finer library wine tastes available for purchase.
