Join Dibblee Collection Manager of Earth Science Jonathan Hoffman, Ph.D., as he explains how the geology of Santa Barbara County makes the likelihood of finding a dinosaur here extremely rare. Discover what kinds of fossils are local to our area—including some magnificent mammals—and learn how to recognize them as you get a sneak peak of some of the marvels in our fossil collection.
