Astrophotography

October 26, 2018 / 6:00 PM–8:00 PM

Develop skills and techniques to photograph the vast universe under the night sky. Join Astronomy Department Manager, Javier Rivera, for a four class series on Astrophotography for beginners or non-photographers interested in astronomy. Students will learn how to take photographs of the Moon, planets, galaxies and nebulae with and without a telescope and have the opportunity of using the Museum’s 20” observatory telescope.

We will discuss basic astronomy in the planetarium, and students will have hands-on experience using their cellphone and DSLR cameras to photograph night sky objects.

Each student is required to provide their own cellphone and DSLR cameras (Canon™ or Nikon™).
