  • Hands-on Fun Exploring Nature                          Ages 2–4 years (with adult)

5-week series

Thursdays, April 10—May 8
10:15-11:00 AM

 

Venture into the Museum’s Backyard and discover what critters live there. Turn over rocks, dig in the compost, look in the creek, and see what’s flying above as you discover how a Naturalist (Nature Scientist) works. We will study plants, bugs, birds and animal tracks on our nature adventures. All classes will meet in Broder Hall at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.


EARLY LEARNERS SERIES (Ages 4 & 5 years)

  • Discover Your World: Uncovering the Secret Lives of Animals                                           Ages 4 & 5 years (without adult)

    8-week series
    Members $120; non-members $152
    Tuesdays, April 1—May 20                          3:30-5:00 PM 

If we don’t see them, how do we know owls or bears exist? Animals leave behind clues that alert us to their presence. Learn how to read signs in nature that tell us about the secret lives of animals. In this 8-week class we’ll watch birds, print plants, track mammals, catch bugs and learn to look at the world through the eyes of a naturalist. All classes will meet in the classroom at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.


AFTER-SCHOOL SERIES (Ages 6-10 years)

  • Nature Detectives: Solving Nature's Mysteries  Ages 6–10 years (without adult)
                                                                               8-week series
    Members $120; non-members $152
    Wednesdays, April 2—May 21        
    3:30–5:00 PM
See the world in a new way. Learn how to look for the signs animals leave behind that let us know they were here. Become an amateur naturalist in this 8-week class, as we learn how to interpret nature’s mysteries, bird-watch, print plants, catch bugs, track animals and more. All classes will meet in the classroom at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.

    Grades K and 1-3
