Larry Barels, a longtime resident of Santa Barbara, is a graduate of Brigham Young University, he spent ten years as founder, broker, and principal of Sun Pacific Properties before co-founding Wavefront Technologies in 1984. Under Larry’s guidance as CEO, Wavefront became a key player in the field of computer animation, which won two Academy Awards for various contributions to the industry, and in 1994, became Santa Barbara’s first startup to public market company. Mr. Barels then became Chairman of the Board and lead investor at Software.com, another Santa Barbara startup, which produced and marketed the first carrier grade electronic mail system. In 1999 it became a public company in a highly successful IPO. Larry is a co-founder, and currently serves as Executive Chairman, of Aqueos Corporation, a subsea services provider with offices in California and Louisiana. Barels is the founder and principal of Pacific Capital Resources.
