Alexander M. Power

Alexander “Sandy” Power describes himself in this way: After Stanford; the Navy; a few years on a securities-trading desk; plus a dozen years in the solid-propellant rocket world; superimposed upon a real-estate development career; Sandy and wife Heloise Bacon moved their thoroughbred horse-breeding business into the Santa Ynez Valley in late 1972. Heloise joined the Museum's Board in the early 1980’s, and after her two terms of service, Sandy followed in 1986. He was named an Honorary Trustee in 2007, and continues to be primarily involved with the Museum but also other non-profits in Santa Barbara and the Santa Ynez Valley. He concludes: Heloise and I now are in our declining years, which means we decline to do things! Except for Museum fun!”
